Update on Volunteering in Israel 2017: I was originally planning on volunteering in Israel from May of 2017-end of 2017. I was accepted by Yad Hashmona, a moshev community about 20 miles outside of Jerusalem. However, due to some suspicious paper work, I decided that this program was not secure. The coordinator of the program informed me that the volunteer visa process would force me to withhold my passport while I waited for my visa. This information, and a lack of sufficient paper work, caused me to feel suspicious about the seriousness of the program. I did not have peace about the situation. I am currently without a place to volunteer in Israel. It seems that I cannot find a place to volunteer. I am seeking direction for 2017. Please pray that I will make wise choices for the next coming year. Thank you. -Hannah Q&A: Frequently asked questions 1. Why do you love Israel so much if you are not Jewish? http://shalomchesed.blogspot.com/2016/07/why-love-israel-a

Statement of Faith I. Bible We believe that the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books, is the inspired Word of God; that every part is fully and equally inspired; and that every single word of Scripture was produced under the control of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21). We also accept the Scriptures in their entirety as being inerrant (in the original writings) and infallible. For this reason we are committed to the Bible as our final authority in all matters of doctrine, faith, and practice (Mt. 5:17; Jn. 17:17).   II. God We believe that there is only one true, eternal, living God, who is sovereign over all things. God can be known through the many absolute and relative attributes revealed in the Scriptures (Ex. 3:14; Dt. 6:4; Col. 1:15–17). God is the source and sustainer of life. He, according to the counsel of His own will, decreed whatsoever comes to pass, including both His permissive will and His causal will (Isa. 14:24, 26–27; Eph. 1).   III. Trinity
My Bio I am a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee with a B.A. in Judaic Studies. I graduated with honors and received both the Dr. Ruben P. Robinson Judaic Studies Scholarship and the Fern and Manfred Steinfeld Scholarship in Judaic Studies. I have had the privilege of volunteering in Israel at Kaplan Medical Center for 160 hours. I have also enjoyed volunteering at Heska Amuna Synagogue for six months. After traveling and volunteering in Israel, during the summer of 2012 and 2014, I fell in love with the Jewish people. My unique passion for Israel and the Jewish people focuses on service and volunteer opportunities for the local community. It is my hope to inspire awareness, involvement, and charity in the non-Jewish community towards the Jewish community of East Tennessee and around the world. My specific research interest is the relationship between Christians and Jews, specifically the education of local Christian churches of Judaism, Jewish culture & tho

Why I Love Israel and the Jewish People      When people ask me why I love Israel and the Jewish people, it is my heart that responds first before my mind expresses my answer. To put it directly, I have so many reasons why I love these blessed people. I could tell plentiful tales about my experiences traveling to the tiny nation, or I could exemplify and expound on the timeless accounts of their historical significance. For now, I will simply stay with the basics to illuminate just how precious these people are to me.      When I did travel to Israel for the first time in 2012, I really had no idea what to expect. Being raised in a home of Jesus followers and a Zionist environment really instilled in me a deep, reverent attitude towards Israel and the connections that believers and Jews share. Even though I am extremely grateful for this incredible opportunity, I still had oodles to learn from experiencing the Israeli people, and the diversity of Jewish people in the D
